Belarusian spy in Lithuania worked as electrician

The work of Vilnius resident suspected of espionage for Belarus had nothing to do with secrecy, said Mr. Edmundas Ganusauskas from the state-owned air navigation company Oro navigacija where the detained Lithuanian had worked.

The popular Lithuanian website ru.delfi.lt quotes Ganusauskas as saying that the man was a technician at the energy department and worked as an electrician.

The Office of Lithuanian Criminal Police announced that they had arrested a spy in his office who had secretly photographed documents and transfered them to the Main Intelligence Directorate of the General Staff of Belarus Armed Forces. In turn, Ganusauskas states that the suspect did not even have an office.

It was reported that the man was collecting information on civil and military aviation. According to the Lithuanian police, a separate investigation is being conducted with regard to another citizen of Lithuania, but it is not yet complete, so the information is not disclosed.
