Belarusian MFA does not comment on Ukraine’s referendum

Voters were asked: “Do you support the declaration of independence of Donetsk People’s Republic?” The turnout was about 75-81%, separatists say. 98% of Lugansk Oblast inhabitants are said to have voted pro and about 90% of voters are said to have supported independence in Donetsk Oblast. The numbers are fantastic, Kiev claimed.

It was a pseudo-referendum and farce, Kiev and the West say.  Russia has not commented on it yet. Only ‘a high turnout’ was mentioned. Euroradio asked the Belarusian MFA to comment on the events in Ukraine:

"We have not commented on the events yet,” MFA press secretary Dzmitry Mironchyk replied.

‘Yet’. It means that some statement may be made in the future.
