Belarus produces milestone 130 million tons of oil

Since the beginning of oil extraction in the country, Belarus has produced 130  million tons of oil, BELTA reports with reference to press service of the company Belorusneft.

Officially, the oil reserves in Belarus have been developed since 1964. In that year, first in August and then in October, we received the first commercial oil flows. The open field was called Rechitskaye.

The maximum oil production in Belarus was marked by the year 1975. In that year, Belarus produced 7.953 million tons of oil.

In the past three years, the annual volume of oil production was 1.645 million tons.

Before the beginning of this year, Belarus discovered 81 oil and gas condensate fields. Currently, Belorusneft produces oil and gas in 61 fields. The total number of wells is nearly a thousand units. Among them 801 are used for mining.
