Belarus to produce 50,000 vehicles annually

Belarus will make over 50,000 vehicles, including 20,000 cars annually, Belarus's Industry Minister Anatol Rusecki told a meeting of the presidium of the Council of Ministers. The minister was presenting a national auto-making program for 2007-2010. He said during the presentation that Belarus planned to make 31,000 MAZ trucks, 600 haulers and 20,000 cars at the Unison facory. "This does not include a joint production of Chinese vehicles," Interfax news agency quoated Mr Rusecki as saying.

The program also envisages production of 2500 MAZ buses, 450 Neman buses and 450 buses from the Homel Repairs factory annually. "Around Br1 trillion is allocated to fund the program," the minister said.
