Belarus PM Sidorski visits Russian nuclear power plant

Belarus Prime Minister Siarhei Sidorski ended his visit to Russia's Saratov region, a home to Balakovskaya nuclear power plant.  The European Radio for Belarus has talked to Galina Kadachnikova, a public information officer at the nuclear station, to share the details of the visit:

"He was mostly interested in the practical issues like training working schedules of technical personnel".

Balakovskaya nuclear power plant is Russia's most advanced energy facility. It operates four energy blocks of the latest generation. Russia is building similar stations in Iran, China and India. They are reportedly in line with international nuclear safety standards.

Siarhei Sidorski said he was impressed with the Balakovskaya nuclear power plant and its staff training center. He stressed that Belarus appreciated the experience of Russian specialists, including "governor's personal experience".

Pavel Ipatov, the governor of the Saratov Region, has worked at top positions at this nuclear power plant for 20 years.
