Belarus: No Ukrainian refugees at our border

Press secretary of the Border Committee Alyaksandr Tsishchanka told Euroradio:

“On the contrary, the number of people wishing to cross the border at Belarusian-Ukrainian check-points has decreased.”

There is no tension at the Belarusian-Ukrainian border. Belarusians are cooperating with Ukrainian colleagues who keep informing them about the situation.

The situation is under control and Belarus is ready for any actions, the Border Committee reports. Belarus may even close the border with Ukraine if necessary.

Tsishchanka: “If the situation worsens and gets out of control, we may consider closing the border. We are monitoring the situation now.”

The Russian Federation Council allowed President Valdimir Putin to bring in troops to Ukraine on March 1. Kiev announced mobilization in response to it.
