Belarus has no plans to reduce military service term

Belarus does not plan to cut the military service term, First Deputy Defense Minister and the Chief of General Staff Siargej Guruliou said on Friday June 22 at a meeting at the Council of the Republic. "The initiative of introducing a 12-months military service term comes from the Ministry of Defense. But this proposal has not been agreed on with the State Committee for Border Troops and the Interior Troops," Guruliou said.

Presently, the maximum term of the military service in Belarus is 18 months, reminds Interfax.
