Belarus-born legendary Soviet spy dies at 102

Mikhail Mukasey, Belarus-born legendary Soviet spy, has died at 102, Russia's foreign intelligence service told Interfax news agency. Mikhail Mukasey was born in the Belarusian village of Zamostse in 1907. He worked in the Soviet foreign intelligence since late 1930s. During the WWII, he worked in the United States under the cover of a vice consul.

Since 1950s Mukasey and his "wife" Elsa worked unercover in various countries of the world. Upon return to the Soviet Union in 1977, the spies trained young Soviet spies.
