Belarus bids for 2013 Ice Hockey World Cup
Belarus has filed an application with the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF), bidding to host the 2013 Ice Hockey World Championship. This country has met all the preliminary conditions to qualify for the next bidding stage. The IIHF's board recently picked the potential candidates, leaving Belarus on the short list.
The Belarus's Ice Hockey Federation is currently in the process of preparing a package of presentation materials for the next IIHF congress to take place in Vancouver on September 19-22.
The congress is expected to make a final decision on who will host the 2013 top international ice hockey event.
