Baumgernter’s airplane not allowed to leave Minsk

Representative of Uralkali Alexander Babinski told RIA Novosti about it. The Belarusian authorities have not commented on the situation so far, he said. The airplane is still at the airport.

The plane detained at the airport in Minsk is a LearJet 60XP, medium-haul aircraft, the agency Prime reports.

Uralkali director-general Vladislav Baumgertner was detained in Minsk after meeting Belarusian PM Mihail Myasnikovich on Monday, August 26. The director-general of Uralkali did damage to Belarus’ state interests, the Investigation Committee said.  He has been accused of power abuse and is facing up to 10 years of imprisonment and confiscation of property.  The losses suffered by the Belarusian Potash Company reached $100 million, the Investigation Committee said. Baumgertner is in KGB prison now.
