August 30 - International Day of the Disappeared
Today is the International Day of the Disappeared. It has a lot to do with Belarus because opposition members and politicians Victar Hanchar and Yury Zaharanka, a businessman and civil activist Anatol Krasouski and a journalist Zmitser Zavadski disappeared in Belarus in 1999-2000. Nobody knows what happened to them.
Let us remind you that the international community suspects high-rank Belarusian officials to be responsible for the abduction of these people.
The demand to tell the truth about the disappearance of Hanchar, Krasouski and Zavadski was added to resolutions of the UN Human Rights Commission, the Parliamentary Assembly of the European Council and the OCSE.
