Another civil activist jailed in Minsk

The activist went out and got in his car. Several people in plain clothes stopped him in their car. Uladzimir Kumets tried to escape but got detained.

The former press secretary of the campaign Revolution in Social Networks was delivered to Lenin District Department of the Interior and then – to Aksrestina detention centre. Judge Mihail Homa pronounced the sentence very quickly. Kumets was returned of ‘petty hooliganism’ and ‘disobedience to the police’, spring96.org reports.

A lot of young democratic activists have been jailed in Belarus (especially in Minsk) recently. They were jailed for 10-20 days. The preventive arrests can be explained by the World Ice Hockey Championship in Minsk, human rights defenders think.
