Another Belarus-Russia space programme begins

A project of “a union space programme” has been approved by the Russian government. It was discussed with Belarus too. The project will be presented to the Council of Ministers of “the Union State” soon.

It is the third joint Belarus-Russia space programme. It is supposed to last for three years.

Belarusian and Russian scientists are planning to create a multifunctional space system consisting of a land-based and orbital complexes till 2011. It will be possible to get information from space in the real-time mode.

It is reported that the realization of the new programme will allow to improve the quality of navigation and telecommunication connection, to study the ecology of the land surface and to get more precise weather forecasts.
