American sentenced to 5.5 years of imprisonment in Belarus
Maskouski District Court of Minsk sentenced a US citizen David Bogatin to 5.5 years of imprisonment.
Belarusian KGB informed about it. The US citizen and his son, a Russian citizen Sergey Bogatin, were returned guilty of tap – they wanted to get a 1.5 million USD credit.
The father and son were sentenced to 5.5 and 5 years of imprisonment respectively.
The investigation showed that Bogatin and his son informed the bank that they wanted to get a credit at that they needed the money to buy sugar needed for production of jam at two enterprises in the free economic zone “Brest”.
Then they transmitted they money to false companies. The accused returned the money during the investigation but did not plead guilty and sent a complaint to a superior court.
