All the detained employees of the portal Realt.by have been released. Journalists Ihar Hmara, Maria Saroka, Alena Maslouskaya and Uladzislau Kuletski were released after an interrogation on the evening of August 8, Radio Liberty reports. All of them have signed a pledge of secrecy.
The journalists were detained in connection with ‘the BelTA case’ on the morning of August 8. All computers were confiscated from the office and the detained journalists were interrogated.
Journalists Alyaksei Zhukau and Paulyuk Bykouski were also detained on the same day. They are suspected of ‘unauthorized access’ to BelTA’s paid news feed. Bykouaski and Zhukau have been arrested for 3 days.
The editorial office of the newspaper Kultura was also searched on August 8. The search in TUT.by offices continued. Several TUT.by journalists were arrested on the morning of August 7.
