All Belarusian beavers to be counted by scientists

Belarusian scientists are going to count all beavers living on the territory of our country before the beginning of 2008. The number of beavers has been increasing recently but nobody counts them. It is supposed that there are from 60 to 100 thousand beavers in our country now.

The increase can be explained by the fact that hunters are not interested in this animal, note scientists from the Institute of Zoology of the National Academy of Sciences. Experts are going to work out a programme of regulation of the number of beavers after they are counted.
