Actions to protect historical monument in Hrodna, some detentions
Actions aimed at protecting historical monuments are taking place in Hrodna. They were organized by youth activists form different regions of Belarus.
Specially made stickers were distributed in Hrodna on June 9. Franak Vyachorka and Stsyapan Svidzerski were detained during the distribution. The European Radio for Belarus phoned Franak Vuachorka right after he had been released:
“We were detained for two hours. Protocols were drawn up, we were interrogated and released. The “sticking campaign” is in process now. We are planning several performances and actions”.
Youth actions will continue tomorrow. A concert of Lyavon Volski will take place in Hrodna today. An exhibition of painters will also start in the city.
