650K Belarusians have temporary residence in Russia
Statistics on temporary migration have been published in Russia. The analytical document containing information on monitoring of the socio-economic situation in the Russian Federation, prepared by experts of the Institute of Social Analysis and Forecasting of the Russian Academy of National Economy and Public Administration under the President, notes that as of February 1, 2019, 650,238 citizens of Belarus were temporarily residing on the territory of Russia. This is a little more than last year (643 thousand), but less than two years ago (almost 698 thousand). In 2015, the official number of Belarusians was almost 518 thousand.
Incidentally, as of January 1, 2019, the population of Belarus was 9,475,600 people. It turns out that almost 7% of Belarusians went to work in Russia.
