50th meeting of war veterans takes place at border of three countries
A meeting of war veterans, their friends and relatives is taking place at the border of Belarus, Latvia and Russia on Sunday. It is the 50th meeting near the Barrow of Friendship erected in the 1950s. It has been organized by the administration of Vitsebsk District of Belarus and Pskov District of Russia.
According to “Tatar-Inform”, the Latvian authorities have not allowed Latvian participants of the event to cross the border spring. That is why festive meetings took place in two spots – Belarusian and Russian veterans gathered near the Barrow of Friendship and Latvian veterans – on the Latvian territory.
