12:01 Beltelecom not to raise costs for services
Payments to the universal services' fund are not to cause the rise in prices for the services of Beltelecom, the national telecommunications operator said Monday in a press release.
On February 20, 2007 the Belarus president signed an edict, ordering to establish a national fund for targeted universal services. Under the measure, communications operators are to pay 1,5% of duties out of their income to the fund's reserve.
Beltelecom notes that it will pay 1,5% to the universal budget fund, but will reduce its duties to the innovation fund from 19 down to 17.5%.
The move will help not to raise the cost of services for its customers, Beltelecom said.
