105 drivers ran away from accident site in Homel Region last year
88 drivers were found and subjected to responsibility. A driving inspector from Homel Region Vyachaslau Shkurko informed that 25 people died in those road accidents. 17 accidents that resulted in 4 deaths have not been investigated.
According to V.Shkurko, the majority of accidents take place in weekends or during holidays. The fewest number is registered on Thursdays and Fridays. Drivers usually run over pedestrians, cyclists and carts.
"Pedestrians or cyclists are often to blame for accidents, however, drivers who run away from the accident site and leave victims in danger will be subjected to criminal responsibility”, - commented V.Shkurko.
