10 library-carriages to appear in Minsk metro (photo)
The idea was suggested by the mobile network operator MTS. 10 library-carriages will appear in Minsk metro. They will look like rooms full of bookshelves. It will be done to arouse people’s interest in good books because people are reading less and less nowadays, Misnk-Naviny reports.
The project will last for 6 months. The carriages will be dedicated to children’s’ literature, classic literature, best-sellers, detective stories and fiction. Four carriages are already being used. Six more will be added by the end of the year.
50 extracts from popular books will be displayed inside each of the carriages. It is supposed to encourage people to read the books. Passengers will also learn how to use the Mobile Library giving free access to over 500 thousand books in 9 languages.
