Zdvizhkov admitted to prison hospital

Alexander Zdvizhkov, the former deputy editor-in-chief of Zgoda newspaper, has been transferred to a prison hospital due a severe deterioration of his sight.
Journalist's mother Hanna Anatolyeuna, who visited the hospital yesterday, told the European Radio for Belarus:

“I talked to an officer-on-duty and passed over a parcel -- all the foodstuffs and things that he had asked for in a letter. I also talked to the doctor who said that my son's sight was very bad”.

According to the doctors, Zdvizhkov's condition is described as satisfactory. He has been diagnosed with the progressive short-sightness.

It is not revealed when he could be discharged from the prison hospital. The journalist was sentenced to three years in prison for re-printing Mohammad cartoons from the Danish press.
