Youth opposition activist interrogated by KGB agent

Student Siarhei Amelchuk, an activist with the Malady Front youth opposition group in Mozyr, was visited at school by a KGB agent who conversed with the youngster, Malady Front spokesman Stanislau Stesik told Euroradio.  "The agent first asked about fascism, because Siarhei is also an anti-fascist. Their conversation began with fascism and communism... Afterwards, it drifted to the topic of Malady Front: how many activists in Mozyr, how many in Minsk..."

According to Stesik, the KGB agent did not intimidate Amelchuk, but simply asked about political prisoners and political draftees. Malady Front reckons the conversation was held, because the organization again filed documents for the state registration.
