Youth activist Andrei Kim to stand trial today

Minsk's Central District Court is today scheduled at 1400 to hear the case of Andrei Kim, a member of the opposition.
He is facing charges of beating up a police officer during a protest action of entrepreneurs in Minsk. If convicted, the youngster could receive up to six years in prison.

Kim was detained on January 21, 2008 and sentenced to 10 days of administrative arrest for taking part in the unsanctioned protest. After his arrest term expired, Kim was transferred to a pre-trial detention center.
