World Bank to lend $100-150mn for energy projects in Belarus

The World Bank plans to launch a new credit project in Belarus in the energy-saving sector. It plans to issue a loan worth of $100-150 million. Already this month, the Belarusian government is expecting to receive a draft loan agreement from the World Bank. A $60-million loan is planned to fund the development of the ater supply systems, reports Interfax.

This will be the first time when the bank will finance 100 percent of the project to begin in 2009.
