Wolf eyes to scare animals away from roads

The Belarusian traffic police plan to set up glowing “wolf eyes” light reflectors to keep animals away from roads, Yury Trayan, a departmental head at the interior ministry’s traffic police department, told reporters in Minsk on Monday.
The reflectors are fixed on the top of posts, set at an angle to pick up car headlights and deflect the beam into the forest.

According to Trayan, three people were killed and 38 were injured in road traffic accidents involving wild animals in 2007. The figures were six and 44, respectively, in 2008.
