Vyachorka to appeal son's military draft

Opposition politician Vincuk Vyachorka says he will appeal his son Franak Vyachorka's military draft. Vyachorka: We will definitely appeal the ruling of the district in higher courts, because this ruling "corrects" the Civil Procedural Code. The district court refused to invite the plaintiff, yet it is clear that plaintiff should be invited.

On February 26, the Minsk City Court upheld Sovietski District Court's ruling that Franak Vyachorka's military draft was legitimate.

On January 28, the youngster was grabbed on the street by people in civilian clothes and beaten up first inside a vehicle and then at the drafting office. He was later handcuffed and dispatched to a military unit in Baranavichy. The parents of of the young man were told that the court had ruled in absentia that the draft was legitimate.
