Visitors locked in National Library for 1.5 hours because of Turkmen leader

Visitors of the National Library had to wait for more than 1.5 hours to be able to leave the building. Security guards blocked all the exits and claimed that a state delegation was in the building, reports “Solidarity”.
According to one of the visitors, security guards (they looked like the President’s security service) blocked all the exits and claimed they would not let anyone out as long as the state delegation was in the building. They said that the delay would be three hours. Fortunately, everyone was allowed to leave in 1.5 hours. However, people had to go through a radio-metal locator check-up.

Journalists have tried asking the library administration why more than a hundred people were locked up and what the reason for such security measures was. They only answered that “an event was organized there”.

Let us remind you that a Turkmen delegation headed by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow is paying a visit to Belarus these days. He visited the National Library. Alyaksandr Lukashenka joined him after the excursion and the Presidents had a working dinner there. While the state leaders were having their dinner, visitors were patiently waiting to be allowed to leave the library.
