Visa refused to participant of international journalist mission

One of the participants of the international journalist mission visiting our country these days has not received a Belarusian visa.
A representative of the organization Civil Rights Defenders Johanna Kurash has not been able to visit us, informs BAJ.

Let us remind you that the mission was created under the aegis of the International Federation of Journalists. It consists of organizations dealing with protection of journalists’ rights, development of mass media and problems of will. 
Representatives of the mission will stay in our country from September 21 till September 23. The aim of their visit is to study the situation concerning the freedom of the press in Belarus and to assess the changes in the field that have taken place lately.

Participants of the mission have met representatives of independent editions, the senior deputy of the head of the President’s Administration Natallya Pyatkevich and the administration of the National State Broadcasting Company headed by Alyaksandr Zimouski.

The briefing where the delegation will sum up the visit’s results will take place in Minsk International Educational Centre on September 23 at 4 p.m.
