Victoria Azarenka meets with Belarusian fans

Victoria Azarenka met with Belarusian fans in Minsk Palace of Tennis on April 10. The World No 5 answered their questions. People asked Azarenka whether she would take part in the play-off match of the Federations Cup for the Belarus national team. It will be held in Moscow on April 16 and 17 and it will be very hard to win without Victoria. “As for now, I am planning to do it,” the tennis player replied. She is always glad to help the national team but it is not always possible, Victoria noted.

Victoria is only planning to play in the singles at Rio Olympics. She became a champion in the doubles together with Maxim Mirny in London. She was trying to help organize a WTA tournament in Minsk, Victoria added. However, it seems that the negotiations were not successful. Her recent meeting with Alyaksandr Lukashenka after the presidential election could be connected with it.
