Vice PM Syamashka negotiates on gas discount with Gazprom again

Віцэ-прэм'ер Сямашка зноў дамаўляецца з "Газпрамам" пра зніжку на газ

Belarusian vice PM Uladzimir Syamashka arrived in Moscow to negotiate with Gazprom CEO Alexei Miller on June 7, interfax.by reports. Russian President Vladimir Putin is expected to visit Minsk on June 8.

Gazprom thinks that Belarus is not paying enough for gas supplies. According to the Russian company, Belarus owes more than $220 million to Gazprom.

The gas price should be much lower, official Minsk believes.

“The two sides have discussed the most pressing issues of cooperation in the gas sphere,” the Russian company reported. The company is sticking to the gas supplies plan to Belarus and Gazprom Transgas Belarus is the biggest tax-payer in our country, Gazprom CEO noted.

The results of the negotiation have not been announced yet.
