Ukraine's Ambassador to Belarus Igor Kizim told Euroradio he served in the military training center in Pechy, the notioriously famous after the tragic death of young soldier Alyaksandr Kortzhych. Was there hazing in Pechy when Igor Kizim served there? – Euroradio asked the Ambassador.

Kizim, a Soviet Army sergeant back then, said there was no hazing in his military unit. However, there were tragic events caused by hazing in the nearby military unit just  100 metres away. There were trials afterwards. Not only sergeants and officers are to blame for hazing, the Ambassador reckons. “It is a large-scale issue. The whole society is to blame,” Igor Kizim thinks. "A lot depends on the upbringing of young people and officers. “People come to the army from the society that brought them up," the Ambassador said.
