Ukraine appeals for help over flu outbreak

Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko has appealed to the international community for aid in fighting a flu epidemic.

Earlier, Yushchenko appealed for help to the leaders of Belarus, the European Commission, Hungary, Moldova, Poland, Romania, Russia, Slovakia and the United States, Regnum reported.

 

The Ukrainian government has imposed a quarantine in nine regions in western Ukraine. EU countries have already sent medicines and vaccine shots.
