Trial of former head of “Belnaftahim” starts in Supreme Court
The trial of a former head of the “Belnaftahim” concern Alyaksandr Barouski has started in the Supreme Court today. He has been imprisoned since May 2007. He was accused of power abuse during the preliminary investigation. Barouski may be sentenced to 8 years of imprisonment and confiscation of his property.
Interestingly, the police used to mention a number of heinous crimes that were said to have been committed by the former head of “Belnaftahim”. Even the sum of the stolen money was announced - a million dollars. Maybe Barouski has already compensated for the losses.
The process will be open, reports Radio Liberty.
