The Christian Conservative Party of Belarusian Popular Front has submitted an applictaion for the traditional Kurapaty manifestation dated for Dziady, an ancient feast commemorating the dead ancestors (November 5), to Minsk City Executive Committee and Minsk Region Executive Committee, pieramoha.org reports.

People will gather near the Watch Plant (Park Caluskincau metro station) and walk along Independence Avenue towards Kurapaty Tract – the place where Stalin's secret police killed several dozen thousand people.

Dzyiady will be marked on November 2. It used to be a day-off in Belarus but Alyaksandr Lukashenka cancelled it. That is why the traditional Kyrapaty Manifestation is usually marked earlier unless November 2 is on Sunday. Last year, the manifestation was held on October 30.

The manifestation participants usually meet near the Watch Plant at 10.30 or 11.30 a.m.
