Trade Union of Russian mass media workers defends Lukashenka

The Russian trade union of mass media workers “Work and Creativity” has expressed anxiety in connection with “the discredit campaign” directed against the Belarusian leader Alyaksandr Lukashenka. The corresponding statement has been made by the head of the trade union’s central committee Oleg Ptashkin. In his opinion, such made to order materials discredit Russian journalism: “The society understands that the conflict between the group ruling “the tube” and the sister republic does not illustrate Russia’s interests and only sticks to the corporate interest of owners”, - is said in the statement quoted by “Gazeta.ru”.

The statement also urges Russian journalists “not to be humble slaves”.
