Toyota dealer officials can avoid prosecution in exchange for bail

The managers of the Emir Motors, the dealer of Toyota vehicles in Belarus, could avoid criminal prosecution, Belarus's Prosecutor General Pyotr Miklashevich told reporters on January 16 in Minsk.
He said the company's executives had fully refunded the losses worth of over Br7 billion and applied for a pardon from the country's president in accordance with the law, reports Belapan.

The executives were charged with embezzlement after they reportedly imported 300 new cars without paying customs duties.
