Thousands attend Belarus air force pilots' burrial

Thousands of people came Thursday to pay the last tributes to Belarus Air Force fighters Alexander Marfitski and Alexander Zhuraulevich who died in an accident during an air show in Poland.  The funeral took place on September 3 at an Air Force center in Baranavichy, reports Belapan.

Belarus defense minister Leanid Maltsev, attending the funeral, described the pilots as brilliant officers and pilots who left an important legacy in the development of the military aviation in Belarus.

The funeral was also attended by Poland's Air Force Commander Andrzej Ulasik and representatives of the Russian elite air force group.

The pilots will be burried at a cemetary in Rusin, several kilometers off Baranavichy.
