Third Committee of UN General Assembly supports Belarusian resolution

The Third Committee of the UN General Assembly (social, humanitarian and cultural issues) has adopted a resolution initiated by Belarus – “Improvement of attempts to fight human trafficking”- after a consensus reached today. According to the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, more than 70 states are co-authors of the resolution.

The document mentions progress in the field of fighting human trafficking reached by the international community this year and contains practical recommendations about further actions directed at its fulfillment. In the opinion of Belarusian representatives, the global plan of actions is supposed to become an efficient mechanism of activating the international community’s attempts to fight “slave trade”, reports BelaPAN.
