Tennis: Azaranka moves up in WTA rankings
Belarus' Victoria Azaranka will move up to No 2 place in WTA rankings after Southern California Open.
The updated ranking will be out on August 5 after the Carlsbad final, but it is already clear the Belarusian will take a lead over Russia's Maria Sharapova. Before the tournament, Azaranka was trailing the World No 2 by 185 points. Now that the Belarusian has reached the final, she is guaranteed to earn at least 320 points.
Victoria Azaranka will take on Australia's Smanatha Stasour in the final showdown on Sunday.
