Syrian chemical attack in shocking CNN footage

The video was shown on Thursday to members of the U.S. Senate Intelligence Committee, reports Radio Svaboda.



The footage depicts convulsing children with the mouth foaming and survivors trying to attend to the victims of what is believed was a chemical weapons attack.



CNN said that the authentity of the 13 different videos seen by members of the Senate Intelligence Committee was verified by the intelligence community. CNN stressed: "While the videos are hard to watch, they do not prove who is responsible for the attack, nor do they provide an answer for whether military strikes are the correct course."



The chemical attack was reportedly carried out on August 21 near the Syrian city of Damascus. According to the U.S. government, 1 429 Syrian died of poisnous agent sarin. The U.S. have blamed the regime of Syrian leader Assad for the attack. The Syrian government has refuted the accusations, describing the attack as a provocation by the rebels to pave the way for an international intervention.
