Syarhei Vaznyak: personal approach to every accused

"I did not go through any physical torture. Speaking about it, I cannot blame investigators and employees of the detention centre for anything. On the other hand, the prison conditions were very hard. The fact that six people were kept in a cell for two could be considered a violation of the international standards and could probably be called a torture. However, it was not personal, the other prisoners felt just as bad as I did”, - said Vaznyak. Speaking about prison conditions, he agreed that Mihalevich had touched upon a very important issue: the conditions should be improved. Vaznyak stressed that KGB had not suggested cooperation or public condemnation of opposition leaders to him. “They must have a different approach to every accused”, - he noted.
