Supreme Court may cancel one of death sentences pronounced this year

The Belarusian Supreme Court may cancel one of the death sentences pronounced this year. The appeal of Vasil Yuzepshuk who was sentenced to death penalty for having killed a number of aged women in June will be considered on October 2.
Let us remind you that one more capital sentence has been pronounced by Minsk Region Court this year. A 25-year-old inhabitant of Salihorsk Andrei Zhuk was sentenced to death for having killed two employees of “Bolshevik-Agro” who were transporting wages of employees of the agricultural enterprise, reports BelaPAN.

Let us note that the European Union and PACE have urged our country to impose a moratorium on death penalty many times. The capital sentences pronounced this year aroused a negative reaction in Europe.
