Supreme Court upholds $63K fine for Lohvinau

The Supreme Court has criticised Ihar Lohvinau’s appeal today, on February 10. The decision to fine the publisher for Br5.4 million and to confiscate the annual income of his bookshop (Br961 million) has been left in force, tut.by reports.

Minsk Economic Court pronounced the sentence on January 9. The bookshop was accused of selling books without the required licence of the Ministry of Information. The entrepreneur appealed the first instance decision in the Supreme Court but even that decision was not good for the publisher.
