Supreme Court considering complaint from Party of Freedom and Progress

The Supreme Court of Belarus began hearing a case of the Party of Freedom and Progress against the Ministry of Justice. The plaintiffs who represent the organizing committee of the party reckon that the justice ministry violated the country's laws by rejecting registration to the party. Most of the founders were forced to respond to letters with 9 questions. The copies of the documents were sometimes filed with the district executive councils and KGB (the national security service.

Belapan news agency reminds that the founding congress of the Party of Freedom and Progress took place on April 18 in Mahilyou. But the Ministry of Justice stated that the delegates of the congress were elected with the violations of the law. The party was denied registration for the forth time in a row.
