Suicide case in Pinsk under Interior Minister’s control

The case of the 20-year-old resident of Pinsk/> who jumped out of a police department window and died, has been personally overseen by the
Belarus/>/> Minister of Interior, Uladzimir Navumau.

The minister ordered the regional police authorities to identify the circumstances of the accident.

On January 22, a/> young man, detained by the local police for having allegedly stolen a mobile phone, jumped out of the interrogation room’s window.

Police later found a suicidal note in his pocket. According to Minister Navumau, a similar accident took place last year in the town of
Bjaroza/>/>.

If police staff is to be found guilty, their bosses will be punished, too, the minister said.
