“The struggle is not over, the war is going on” – Zyanon Paznyak
An action in support of young Belarusian activists imprisoned for acting on behalf of an unregistered organization took place near the UN headquarters in New York on September 9.
It was organized by a youth organization “Belarusian youth movement of America”.
The action’s participants have sent an appeal to the UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon asking him to exercise influence on the Belarusian authorities and to demand that political persecution of people should be stopped.
A letter of congratulation on the Day of Belarusian martial fame was read out near the UN headquarters. It was written by Zyanon Paznyak.
“We have lived through the dreadful 200 years of Russian occupation and got independence in this struggle. We have restored our state. But the struggle is not over, the war is going on”, - is said in Zyanon Paznyak’s appeal.
