'Speechless' Bob Dylan says will accept Nobel Literature Prize

American songwriter and singer Bob Dylan has agreed to accept the Nobel Prize in Literature. International media report the laureate has finally contacted the Swedish Academy two weeks after winning the award to acknowledge the win.

Dylan said of the prestigious honor and explained his silence saying the award left him "speechless". When asked if he was ready to accept the prize, he said: of course!

However, the Nobel Foundation reiterated on Friday that it "has not yet been decided" if Dylan would attend the ceremony in Stockholm in December.

Bob Dylan was announced the winner of the Nobel Prize in Literature on October 13 for "having created new poetic expressions within the great American song tradition."

The singer kept silence for two weeks. On October 21, information about the award disappared from his official website.
