Skinhead, youth union member on trial for student's murder in Homel

Two local residents - 17 and 19 years old - are charged with an aggravated murder and robbery that occurred on July 20, 2012.

Some details of the degfendants' profiles were revealed during the hearing, reports naviny.by. The 19-year-old told the judge he had been associated with a bands of skinheads and was a member of the Slavic Runs group active in Homel. The 17-year-old was a member of the pro-governmental youth union - Belarusian Republican Union of Youth (BRSM) and was often dispatched on street patrols.

He got to know the victim (Aliaksandr) through a friend several days before the murder. The student gave shelter to the underage defendant after the latter had a row with his father and had no place to sleep. Aliaksandr even gave his shoes to the 17-year-old because his sneakers got torn, gave him food and allowed to spend two nights at his place.

During the third night, the underage came along with his older friend. They attacked Aliaksandr and killed him.

The defendants admit the murder, but try to accuse each other of slander.
